Adonis

Adonis steps out of Greek myth already dressed in marble. The beautiful mortal loved by Aphrodite, whose death brought forth the red anemone, lent his name to centuries of poets reaching for a word beyond beautiful. In contemporary America, Adonis arrived on the charts in the 2000s and has been climbing since, boosted by the Creed films and by parents willing to aim high. Three syllables, the stress on the middle, a name that carries its own fanfare. It's bold, unmistakably classical, and a little theatrical. Adonis doesn't whisper, and never has.
